Why start with a heavy cue when you'll just have to take extra time to lighten it later? This is just good training sense. You see now that the horses can also train us to be polite,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], patient,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and use finesse. "My horse wouldn't feel a Mack truck and you expect him to feel a feather?" someone once said to me. Well, I've used this system on many different breeds and saw some improvement in all of them. Results will differ, of course. People vary in their responses and capabilities, don't they? Why wouldn't we expect horses to also exhibit this as well? Granted, this may take some ingenuity. Some tips to try: a light double tap or a bit of vibration instead of more intense force often will get the message across quite effectively.

Let’s use another example here: I’ll often point to an audience member and question what type of riding they do. And funnily enough once it had showed up I remembered thinking a couple of months ago, after a conversation with a friend who lives between Spain and the UK and shares a London flat with a friend, that it be great would be to have a similar kind of set up. A flat share where we wouldn’t be there all the time but we could come and go as we pleased. So in fact, I had created this in the first place!
Luckily this temporary insanity(!) did not last long and Beatrice, who luckily did remember that other doors do indeed open, wrote to a friend asking if he knew anyone who’d like an occasional flatmate. Within the hour he had written back saying that in fact he and his partner had only been talking a couple of weeks ago about how they’d like someone to use the spare room in their apartment but not all the time! What was so amazing was the timing of this - as he said the Universe is smiling down on us both right now.
I wrote on Facebook recently that when one door closes and another opens. One of the comments was that not only was this true but many times the door that opens is,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], more often than not,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a better door.
Another lesson was trust. When I think back through my life these doors have always opened. Not always the ones I expected to open I will grant you that,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but I have never been left in the lurch. And when I look back and see how particular doors actually led me to far great places than I could have ever imagined (even if at the time I did not think so) I remember to trust.

This was certainly true for me a few weeks ago. I live in Spain although the majority of my business is in the UK. My mind went into overdrive and I totally forgot that when one door closes another (often bigger and better) one opens,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I started to fret about how we were going to be able to do what we needed to do with all the commitments we had made for the next six months. I forgot to trust that everything is working out – I forgot to Remember the Perfection in the moment.
Being too stressed about the ‘how’ rather than focusing on the ‘what’. Because I couldn’t see how I was going to be able to solve the problem I forgot that all I had to do was be clear on what I needed and then take appropriate action. My mind was racing ahead of itself and conjuring up all the problems that were not there. In fact we had many options, but because my mind was in problem mode rather than solution mode I could not see them. Once we got clear about the what, the how showed up.
And lastly timing – when something happens we often cannot see just how amazing the timing is. If our friend in London had not had the change in circumstances that led him to say we had to find a new home then the opportunity that was so perfect for us might no longer have been available,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].

I’m not suggesting that we shouldn’t “do” things, have goals and live our dreams to the fullest. What I am wondering about is the other half of the formula; what we in the western world collectively condemn as frivolous and not productive. Being.
When I blend these painful thoughts with our societal values to accomplish and succeed at life at any cost, it’s no wonder I experience stress and fear. I feel the cultural treadmill constantly pushing me forward toward something. How can I die without achieving the right career, the perfect relationship, money, and a mission in life that will define my purpose for being alive?
Said another way, it’s not where the path leads that’s so important. Instead,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it’s the path itself that brings us the most joy and fulfillment.

When you think about how you market your product, at what level are you selling your product? Is there something that you could do to help move to a higher level and increase your sales and/or your profitability?
Since I wanted to fix some salmon in the toaster oven and we were without,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it required a trip to our local discount store to find a replacement. Upon reaching the appropriate aisle, we were confronted with 6 choices and the only point of differentiation was price ranging from just under $20 to slightly over $60. It was then that I started thinking about the different levels of selling and this was the lowest possible level.
It was about this time that I came to realize that there was boxed inventory above the display. Pulling down box after box,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it became apparent that the manufacturers had outlined the features of each unit on the exterior of the box.
